Hp Tuners License Hack
HPTUNERS EDITOR STARTUP GUIDE. Proteus isis download. License Info -Brings up info about which license you have VCM Suite Info -When connected to a vehicle this will pull up the info for.
Hello all, I'm trying to find out whether HPTuners has a specific tune in their repository before I drop the coin on the VCMSuite pro. Specifically looking for any tune with the 'UF3' RPO, which is most likely on LY6 6.0 engines. Thing is, without a serial number and license I can't dig around their repository. Can anyone take a look for me? Are there other online tune repositories? As to why I want this.
I'm putting a 6.2L L92 into my 80-series and found that an 'adjustable fast idle' option was available that is controlled with the cruise switches on some GenIV v8s. Before people get excited, you WILL need the BCM to make this work. But I am using that part so whether or not HPTuners can get me the file I need is the last question I have before committing to HPTuners. Or the more expensive EFILive. Thanks for any help.
You recognize that outside of the snap-on $10,000 computer (or the Tech2) a BCM is pretty the wild west of tuning because very few people hack it? What you suggest is not terribly difficult, but that path - hacking a BCM - is not easy one and there are other options to use the stepper motor on the drive-by-wire system to do what you wish. Interesting challenge. As for the stock tune - if the vehicle where the motor was removed from is on the list, then you should be fine but with that said, if you have the stock computer, you already have the stock tune and 'all' hptuners will get you is the ability to change those stock parameters. Are you thinking doing a megasquirt instead? I'm not sure their software is better or could even do what you wish - but I do know there are far more helpful people on their forums then HPTuners because HP is geared more towards the pro and megasquirt the DIYers.
White Auto Media Services can do BCM edits if you ship it to them, including the fast idle, as long as the ECM programming is there. According to them it won't be crazy expensive either since it was a factory GM option and shouldn't involve a lot of development work. They say they have done this already for people with later model pickups that didn't have the fast idle option. Also, EFILive has developed a method with a couple shops (oztuner is one) that allows them to send a bcm file to you and you flash it yourself. So it's safe to say the BCM programming thing is coming along. I have an E38 ECM & BCM from a 6.2L L92 escalade. My understanding is the L92 ECMs didn't have the programming for the fast idle option.
But, the ECM out of a 6.0L LY6 HD pickup/van ordered with the correct UF3 RPO should. So my plan was to use HPTuners to flash my ECM to that LY6 program/OS so that the fast idle option could be enabled by my BCM after the proper edits, then adjust the tables in the 6.0 program for my 6.2.
