Cons: Hardware is very fragile, I've personally snapped my antenna which still works, but can't stay up and ruins my chances with women. Software for Windows 7 is completely non-existent. Unless you are buying it for Vista-OS computers and below, steer clear (Although I doubt you can even find it anywhere). Other Thoughts: Run the installer in compatibility mode for Vista service pack 1, that worked for me (32 bit Windows 7).
Computer repair guys have gotten it to work with a stable connection when I had a 64 bit motherboard as well, but I'm not quite sure if they did anything differently. Either way, run the installer through compatibility modes until it works.
Pros: Cheap Cons: This card only connects the first time wth Windows XP, and then never again I tried WEP 64 bit, WEP 128 bit, and WPA and nothing worked. I even tried reinstalling Windows!!!!
I spent over an hour with technical support who put me through the hoops trying out different things I had already tried. They finally offered me an RMA to exchange for the same one!!!!! I told them that the hardware works, not the software, so what's the point of getting the same one but they wouldn't get it. Other Thoughts: Newegg is fantastic- they gave me a credit for it even though it's not their fault. Got it at a third price as a shellshocker deal. And it's tiny and easy to install (physically). Cons: Absolutely awful drivers!
At least for windows 7 32-bit The driver's that came with the cd work for only one boot. Install driver > reboot > works > reboot again > do not work again. Autoxray pc link cable. I've uninstalled this and tried it again several times.
Now it blue screens on me after the initial working first boot until I go into safe mode and remove the device from Device Mangler. Other Thoughts: The card itself doesn't seem bad. Perhaps they will develop better drivers for it.
But my experiences with Belkin drivers have been nothing but awful. I will never buy one of their products again because every time getting the drivers to work is a nightmare. Pros: Installed fine on a 32-bit OS fine. For 64-bit on Win 7 you will need to use the Atheros driver. So small it won't restrict airflow. Cons: Signal at 10ft away is 2 out of 5 bars and a whopping 0.5mb/sec. Just imagine if it had to go through TWO walls I knew Belkin's networking items were on the low end but this is shameful.
