I took my 2018 SGS (which has the Boom Audio Stage 2 Amp & Speakers in the front fairing), to the dealer to get flashed. I got a call from the Service Writer at the dealer today telling me that the flash was complete, but the speakers sound distorted and he did not think I would be happy with it. He then went on to say that the best way to describe it was that it sounded like a weak FM radio signal.

He also said that they sometimes get bad FM radio signals in the service area. I asked if they tried listening to music on a USB memory stick to see if that was the problem and he said that no one in the shop had a USB memory stick to try. I will be going to pick the bike up either this evening or tomorrow morning. Can anyone please advise what the current flash procedure is for the Boom Audio Stage 2 Amp & Fairing Speakers, so that I can verify that it has been done correctly via the HD Digital Technician?

I have the bass turned all the way down with the Stage 2 speakers and they still produce just the right amount of bass for me.

I won't have any issue hearing them at 75-80 mph. I am beginning to wonder if those who have blown their Stage 2 speakers, are simply dialing up too much bass and running them at very high volume levels.

You do plan on running the Boom Audio amp if you install the Stage 2 speakers right? I don't know if there is much benefit to running them without the amp.
